What you will learn: 

The Occupational Health Nurse fulfills the role of case manager (CM) and coordinator of health care services from the onset of illness or injury, through rehabilitation and return-to work, or an optimal alternative. Occupational Health Nurses are the key to ensure cost containment and quality health care among workers. In this course you will better understand the case management knowledge and skills to prepare for the COHN or COHN-S certification exam. Participants will review concepts of levels of intervention, criteria for case selection, and goals, process, and outcome measures for evaluation. This course is also part of the OHN Prep Course Package.

After completing this course, learners will be able to: 

  •  List the goals of disability management.
  • Identify case management team members, roles and responsibilities.
  • Differentiate between primary, secondary and tertiary intervention.
  • Identify the goals and criteria case selection and management program.
  • Identify examples of structure, process and outcome measures of the Donabedian Evaluation Model.
