Cancer treatment increasingly requires occupational medicine physicians to make complex decisions about work capacity and return-to-work ability — yet few have received dedicated training for this role.
This training provides practical evidence-informed guidance for discussing work with patients, identifying those who may need additional support, and connecting them with resources that help them navigate employment during treatment.
Designed for occupational medicine physicians and APPs, the course offers clinical frameworks, assessment strategies, and referral tools to help working patients safely continue—or return to—employment across the cancer care continuum.
You will learn to:
- Assess work capacity and functional limitations across the cancer care continuum
- Evaluate workplace risks and recommend appropriate accommodations
- Coordinate with oncology teams to provide integrated, patient-centered care
Self-paced and developed with occupational medicine physicians in mind. Developed by the Centers for Health, Work & Environment in partnership with a national steering committee and CU Cancer Center.
